But I came from a farmer's family and we were taught that money doesn't bring happiness (there never was any!). We were taught the joy it was to shop for someone else and to anticipate the joy on their face when they opened a gift that was heartfelt. I get so annoyed with the commercialism of Christmas...Even Thanksgiving is becoming a looked-over holidays...a means to get to Black Friday. I cannont imagine the mindset where someone would kill over a toy or an item. Sin has a grand great hold on this land and the hearts of the people here. <BR/>I have started making Christmas gifts. We don't buy our kids alot of toys and they don't need the latest technology. Where are the simpler days...the days of laura ingalls? (Now I am not saying that I want to travel by carriage and sit on a pew with no back to it!) but I am trying to live a slower paced life and treasure these moments God gave me.<BR/><BR/>Thanks for posting.
