Are gay people worse sinners than you and I?

Discuss in detail your views on homosexuality/lesbianism in light of Romans 1.26-28. Futher, do you think homosexuality/lesbianism is a sin?

These verses like others used by the “conservative extremists” are taken out of context and misapplied to those that practice the SIN of homosexuality/lesbianism. YES this type of sexuality is ABSOLUTLEY A SIN. It should be noted that ANY sexual act outside the God ordained bonds of marriage is SIN. But specific to this sin, too many people take this verse to address only homosexuals. However, look at the greater context. It is addressing those that have rejected God by any and all means He has made Himself known to them. Those that have bought into or made up lies about the world GOD created. The acceptance or practice of homosexuality is part of the progression or digression, depending on how you look at it, of sin away from God, all while knowing what God states and choosing to rebel.

This verse is not saying that homosexuals have no hope. There are those that say that once a person starts to practice or experiment with this particular sin, they are hopeless, they have finally crossed the line and cannot be saved. They claim that this is the “sin unto death” or “unpardonable sin”. It is rather easy to see this interpretation upon first reading of these verses. This is simply not truth of God’s Word. There is only ONE unforgiveable sin stated clearly in the Scriptures from God. If one rejects or refuses to place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, they will be punished and banished to an eternal torment ultimately in the lake of fire.

For one to claim this interpretation, they must posit that Christ’s death was not all inclusive of every kind of sin, that there is a sin that Christ’s blood did not or can not cover. If that is the case, then they must also posit that God is a limited God and that sin is more powerful than God is. There are obvious problems with this.

When the Bible says that God gave them up, or gave them over to sin, one could liken that to a cold or a virus. It must run its course. While God certainly has the power and ability to simply put a stop to the problem, He has chosen to allow it to continue to its ending. Once someone has entered the sin of homosexuality, there are many other sins in their life, including the rejection of Christ and of God. They have given into the very convincing lies of the Satan about life and about how this world and people work. They have gone very far with their sinful life and lifestyle. However, while they seem they are beyond hope of turning back, they are not. Until they die, each and every human being still has the ability to choose. People have an innate sense of God within them, that is seemingly unfillable “void” in their lives. Satan has convinced many that any given sin will fill that void. Obviously nothing but Christ can do that.

Christ is all powerful and can save even the most wretched of sinners, from the likes of Adolf Hitler to a child abuser, any human being can be saved. The verses preceding and following these particular ones citing homosexuality give the pretense of prior rejection or denial of God and going so far as to set oneself up as a god.

I agree that homosexuality/lesbianism is wrong....and I agree wholeheartedly that these people can be saved. In fact, I think that as Christians, we should hate the sin, but love the sinner, just as Christ did. Christ would have eaten supper with these people, and I don't think we should make it a point to avoid these people at all; in fact, I think we should reach out to them. I have had friends/acquaintances who were living this lifestyle, and it didn't change the people and souls that they were....it was simply a lifestyle they were choosing to live; they still are souls that I truly believe God wants to see come to Him. Not that we should just hang out with them all the time and be the best of friends, but that we should show them the love of Christ....instead of cruel judgment. Too many times, certain Christians give all Christians a bad rep because of their cruel and unjust treatment/ridicule/oppression/persecution....I say persecution because people have been murdered for being homosexual. As Christians, we are called to love, no matter the sin. Jesus died for ALL sinners, including us, who once were lost. Just my opinion; you asked for it.:)LOL Love ya, bro! Good post.

I think that your choice of topics is sompin different. But as am bisexual i think that you should choice your topics wisely cause your choices could also get you in trouble. Sence you dont know or understand the sexual difference in people you should not judge. Is that not one of the commandments "one shall not judge". With judgements like this you yourself are SINNING! I feel this is not your or anyone elses business as to who is having sexual intercourse with who. Not your life therefore not your problem.

Real quick reply here:

You attempt to quote Scripture. You call me a sinner and that I am sinning. I am indeed a sinner, saved by Grace. If you posit that there is sin, then you must posit there a moral law to sin against.
When you posit there is a moral law, you must posit there is an author of that moral law.
When you posit there is an author of that moral law you must posit that author is wiser than any man and knows what's best for us because the moral law that was given and that the law was given out of love for us and for our benefit. The God of the Bible fits that description quite nicely so what's your problem or question??

You see, you can't pick and choose parts of the law to live by. You must accept the whole thing or none of it. Either way you, and I, must deal with the fact of where we will go after our time on this world is over. Heaven or hell?
You either accept Christ or you reject Him.

You're right, my choice for topics could certainly get me in trouble. But the trouble I fear is that from God, not from man. The truth of God's Word is offensive to those who care not for it. I strive to live by that truth. Am I perfect? No way. I will never make that insane claim. However, there are thousands of Christians all over the world that are being persecuted and even killed solely based on their beliefs in Jesus Christ. So to take a few shots online for the cause of Christ is something I welcome and quite honestly it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Rather, it fires me up because I would love to continue the conversation and try to show you and anyone else the lies we all have been fed from the devil, The Father of Lies, by the light of God's Word and it's very relevance to our lives and culture today.

Interesting that you state that I don't know the sexual difference in people. Hmmmm, God created us sexual beings. He created Adam, a man with the natural male equipment, and He created female with the natural female equipment. I get the mechanics. If you want to examine my knowledge and understanding of the sexual aspect of being a human being, you may do so, but I suggest that you may never be satisfied simply because I don't accept any type of sexuality outside the confines of a committed marriage of a man and woman before God.

You mention that I should not "judge" and attempt to quote and apply Scripture to your cause. The verse you are taking a portion from is one of the most, perhaps THE most misquoted and applied verses in the Bible. Until you have an understanding of Scripture in it's context, don't pull out a verse or even a portion of a verse and attempt to use it to justify your choice of sin. That is a false use of the Holy Word of God and it is totally rejected here. If I were to follow your way of thinking and gross misuse of Scripture, I could justify a person's suicide because they opened the Bible and pointed to the verse saying "And Judas went and hanged himself" and then the next verse they turned too said "Go and do likewise." That would be totally absurd.

Lastly your end statement, "not your life therefore not your problem." That is one of the most selfish egotistical not careing about ANYONE statements I have heard. I sincerely hope you see the grave error of that thinking. Look at the words of your own comment, sin. If one person's acts had no effect on another, then why should anyone care? Adam sinned in the garden and that single sin has effected every single human being with the sole exception of Christ Jesus. Therefore one person's life thousands of years ago, has had an eternal effect on my life today as well as your's. Every single decision we make has an effect, great or minute, positive or negative, on more than just ourselves.

I need to make an amendment to this....I said "Adam sinned in the garden and that single sin has effected every single human being with the sole exception of Christ Jesus." I was wrong with part of that. Sin affected Christ Jesus because if there were no sin, He never would have had to come be our substitute and make the only way back to God accessible to us again by living as a finite human being, suffering a grusome and torturous death on the cross, and rise from the grave (HALLELUJAH!!!).

My apologies for this error. :-) See, yet again, another example of my imperfection. LOL

Do you even know a gay person? My absolute best friend is gay and there is no way he is going to hell. You know very well you can find anything in the Bible to backup whatever you believe. I'm sure I will be accused by some ignorant person, such as yourself, of being a quadriplegic since age 12 due to some horrible sin I commited. I have been married and divorced (oh no, probably going to hell for that as well), have two beautiful grown daughters (luckily I was married at the time I conceived and had them so, hopefully, no sin there) and have the most precious 6 month old grandson who has spent most of his short life in the hospital because of a congenital heart condition. I'm sure that's because he was born out of wedlock and my daughter is doomed to eternal hell. Stop judging people and get off your pedestal. You are not enlightening, humorous or the wonderful person you think you are.
