What is the purpose of the law????

Here is a thought. Some teach that we are no longer under the law of the Old Testament but under the divine grace and mercy of the New Testament. Therefore, we don’t need to be concerned about satisfying the O.T. law.

Here are the basics of this based on my studies so far. We are clearly under the grace and mercy of faith in our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ as derived from the clearness of the New Testament. HOWEVER, Christ did not do away with the laws of the Old Testament laws, only the salvation purpose that they filled at their time.

So since Christ didn’t put down the law, what purpose could they serve today? In a nutshell, perhaps a seed shell, a mustard seed shell, here it is for your consideration: Christ fulfilled the law and expects us to use the laws of both the Old Testament and the New Testament to live our lives by.

Salvation is through Christ alone. But a life fill of God honoring living (sanctification, progressive sanctification) is achieved through rightly dividing and applying God’s laws, the Bible, all of it.

Now take that to the next level on your own…..
